The tour has one last week in America before the US Open.

The first round of the Connecticut Open starts on Sunday, and Johanna Konta joins a stacked line-up in New Haven.

Davia Gavrilova is back to defend her title and Simona Halep is the top seed.

BT Sport has coverage all week, with the first day’s play partly on the red button while the Cincinnati final takes place.

Damir Dzumhur put an end to Kyle Edmund’s run from qualies to semi-final in Winston-Salem last year.

Kyle Edmund took a wildcard into the North Carolina tournament, and is the third seed. David Goffin is seeded 1, but Roberto Bautista Agut is not returning to defend his title.

In the doubles draw Dom Inglot partners Franko Skugor, while Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski continue their partnership.

The tournament not televised this year. It will be on Tennis TV only, with 20 matches aired through the week from Monday.

US Open qualifying

Grand Slam

Qualifying for the US Open starts on Tuesday. The US Open is the only grand slam not that doesn’t have matches from qualifying rounds televised in the UK.

British interest on the men’s side in Jay Clarke and Liam Broady, while there are no less than seven British women playing; they are Katie Boulter, Heather Watson, Naomi Broady, Harriet Dart, Katie Swan, Gabriella Taylor and Katy Dunne.

The main draw for the US Open starts next Monday 27 August, and will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
