w/c 29 September: Beijing and Tokyo

This week we’ve a combined ATP and WTA event in Beijing, and an ATP tournament in Tokyo.

Beijing

WTA Premier Mandatory and ATP 500, BT Sport and Sky Sports

Johanna Konta in Beijing in 2017.

The China Open is one of the biggest tournaments on the WTA calendar with women’s matches in Beijing starting on Saturday, while the men’s matches begin Monday.

Simona Halep is top seed and last year’s winner Caroline Garcia returns. Johanna Konta is the only British direct entrant in the women’s draw with Heather Watson and Katie Boulter hoping to qualify. Watson and Konta are also in the doubles draw.

Andy Murray withdrew from the tournament with an ankle injury putting an end to his season. Kyle Edmund has been getting some training in there. At the time of writing the main singles and doubles draws haven’t been made. Last year’s winner Rafael Nadal is sitting this one out so the top seed is Juan Martin del Potro. Cameron Norrie headed straight there from Shenzhen for qualifying.

Coverage is on BT Sport from Saturday and Sky Sports from Monday, so here’s a combined table.
