Week 16 (w/c 15 April): Monte-Carlo, Fed Cup

It’s the first clay court Masters of the year in Monte-Carlo, and Great Britain play Kazakhstan in the Fed Cup over Easter weekend.

There are no WTA Tour tournaments this week.


ATP Masters 1000, Amazon Prime Video

Actually just over the border, in the French commune of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, the Monte-Carlo masters has been played for 122 years.

Kyle Edmund is seeded following the withdrawal of Gael Monfils, and Cameron Norrie also plays in singles. Novak Djokovic is the top seed and Rafael Nadal is three-times defending champion.

Jamie Murray is reunited with Bruno Soares, they play Dominic Inglot and Rohan Bopanna in the first round. The doubles draw also sees Joe Salisbury partner Raven Klaasen, plus Kyle Edmund and Neal Skupski all in the same half.

There is multi-court coverage from the Monte Carlo Country Club every day on Amazon Prime Video from Sunday.

World Group II Play-off, BT Sport

After their success in Bath in February, Great Britain’s Fed Cup team were drawn against Kazakhstan and the tie is to be played at the Copper Box in London’s Olympic Park.

Captain Anne Keothavong named an unchanged team with Johanna Konta, Katie Boulter, Heather Watson, Harriet Dart and Katie Swan playing for promotion into World Group II.

The tie is live on BT Sport 3 over Easter weekend, and also available for free on the LTA’s Facebook page. Clare Balding will again present the coverage, with commentary from David Law, Annabel Croft and Laura Robson.
